The Genesis Group hosted the 2018 Gems of Distinction awards and NTCNet wins!
The annual program is designed to promote businesses and organizations within the six-county local Regional Economic Development Council district that believe in a “the future begins today” philosophy. The featured businesses this year are NTCNet (A Newport Telephone Co.), Utica Zoo, Beekman 1802, Herb Philipson’s, Utica Comets and Richardson Brands Company.
The awards will be announced during a special presentation at Gems Along the Mohawk in Herkimer.
Criteria for the honor include “being future oriented, creating unique sustainable efforts, developing team creativity and collaboration, displaying unusual leadership modeling, advancing regional commitment” and being an economic generator, according to the release. To be considered, candidates must be located in Fulton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Oneida, Otsego or Schoharie counties.
